Squash team named
PA Levin A brother and sister from Auckland reached the top in the New Zealand under 23 national squash championships held at Levin during the week-end. In the women’s final, Miss R. Blackwood beat Miss J. Devoy, 9-2. 8-10, 9-5. 9-6, and in the men’s Craig Blackwood beat R. Norman (Auckland), 9-5, 9-1, 9-6. The following players were selected for the representative team to tour Australia in May:— Blackwood, Norman, R. Esprie
(Wellington), R. Hayes (Christchurch). Non-travelling reserve, P. AfcFadzien (Christchurch).
Two under 19 juniors who will go with the team are P. Viggers and S. Davenport (Christchurch), with non-travelling reserve D. Lovatt (Wellington). The manager is Mr M. Greig (Auckland; and the team will play at Hamilton at the Waikato championships on May 8 before the 20-day Australian tour, which begins in Brisbane and ends in Melbourne with a test.
