Birds out of seeds, cones and nuts

It is fun making animals from pine cones, nuts, and seeds. Try these suggestions and experiment with

your own ideas. Collect a sycamore seed. (Sycamore trees are tall with large heart-shaped leaves and winged seeds). The seed is quickly transformed into a beautiful bird. Use a berry for the head and attach it to the seed with a match stick. Make a second bird

from a conker. Keep the conker in its shell. This is the bird’s body. Find two long, thin pieces of twig for legs. Attach with wire.

String berries on some more wire for the neck. Give the bird a big berry head. A pine cone will make a sturdy owl and it serves as both his head and body. Hunt for two pieces of feathery evergreen for the owl’s wings and fasten with plasticine.
