Adults’ tutors on visit
Two tutors from the Correspondence School, Wellington, will be in Christchurch on Friday afternoon and throughout Saturday to meet adult students of the school, and to discuss their courses and any problems they may have. This is the first time the school has arranged such a visit. Tutors will also be available at the same time in Auckland, Hamilton, Gisborne, Wellington, and Dunedin.
The Correspondence School | opened in 1922 to cater for primary-school children living in remote areas. Now part-time adult students make up the major part of, the school roll. More than 10,000 adults! are taking such courses this year, 10 per cent coming 1 from North Canterbury. Most! are taking School Certificate and University Entrance subjects, although nonexamination home study courses have recently become popular. The two tutors who will visit Christchurch, Mrs Marguerite Garner and Mr M ; Childs, will be available at | George Guv House, 27 Kil-i more Street.
