Winchester man wins $75,000 in lottery
A young Winchester market gardener is determined that a $75,000 windfall will not change the lifestyle of himself or his family. “We will just .carry on as normal — no world trips or anything,” said Mr Alan Patrick, who yesterday won second prize in the Mighty Half Million lottery. “We might buy a new vehicle for the business, but that would be about all,” he said. Mr Patrick, aged 36, runs a vegetable stall on the main road at Winchester. He is married, with two young children, aged seven and three. Mr Patrick said last evening that he had missed buying a ticket in only one major lottery in' the last few years, and was always confident that he might “strike it lucky-” He had never won, so much as a $lO prize before; but he took yesterday’s good news calmly and spent the day tending his crops.
“We will have to have a little celebration sometime, but there is plenty of time for that,” said Mr Patrick. He said he would carry on buying tickets and using the same appropriate nom-de-plume for a market gardener — “Red King,” the name of a popular variety of potato. $500,000 89158. Pink Synd..
