Hadlee on the mend

Dayle Hadlee’s prospects of proving his fitness for the New Zealand cricket tour of England have been improved by the pleasing recovery rate of his back injury. Constant exercising and treatment have relieved the discomfort that he had felt in everyday life, and he had much more freedom of movement during his innings of 157 not out for High School Old Boys against a Queensland Invitation XI on Sunday. Although he bowled in that match, Hadlee was far from his full pace. He will have a serious workout at the Hagley Sports Centre in a few weeks to test his back.
