Rewarding trip
Most members of a of 36 people taken to Awapuni at the week-end by "The Press” and Air New Zealand had not been to the races on the Manawatu club’s course before. But the intracacies of North Island form did not daunt them all. Two of the cheerful travellers concentrated their attention on quinellas, and landed five of them, one worth $446.40, on the Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes.
They are now anxious to know when “The Press” and the airline will arrange another racing tour to the North Island, and if they can be certain of places on the list.
