Timeball station open soon
The Lyttelton Timeball ; Station will be open to the; public early in May, says the Historic Places Trust. At present the Ministry of ] Works and Development is renovating the station, preparing accommodation for a - resident custodian, and making a car-park ready. Conflicting statements on, the readiness of the station! have caused some confusion I among the public and the; travel industry. But the na-| tiona) offices of the trust] confirmed from Wellington! yesterday that immediaielyi the Ministry of Works had 1 , completed renovations, the) timeball station would be open to the public for tours i and displays.
