Hot pools to open in June?
June may be the opening date of the Hanmer Springs thermal pools. The Amuri Pools Steering Committee has so far raised I $37,000 towards the complex. The spout pools and toilet block are progressing well and voluntary labour has helped lessen the cost of the physiotherapy block. The steering committee, however, has not had much fund-raising luck lately. A masquerade ball which was to have been held at the The Lodge, Hanmer Springs, on Saturday has been cancelled because only One or two tickets had been sold. “I am sad it had to be called off,” said a committee i spokeswoman, Mrs H. E. Heard.
“The Lodge was very generous, and the price was not unreasonable.” Mrs Heard said the committee hoped to advertise for pool staff soon.
