I.H.C. appeal short of target

The Canterbury branch of the Society for the Intellectually Handicapped is substantially short of its target of $64,000 from this year’s public appeal for funds.

The president of the branch (Dr R. T. Caseley) said that it seemed that the total of the appeal in the Canterbury area would be nearer last year’s figure of $52,000.

“In the present inflationary situation this means that we are having to look critically at our plans,” he said.

Doctor Caseley asked any who might have been missed in the collection to hand their appeal envelopes to their local chemist or to post them direct to the society’s Christchurch branch at P.O. Box 1729.

“We want to thank all those who made donations and those who assisted in the organisation and collection of the annual appeal,” he said.
