Open day profit for school kits
The open week-end held by the Canterbury Environment Centre drew about 600 people, and showed a profit of “several hundred dollars,” the event’s organisers said The money will be used in the production of educational kits on air and water pollution for third and fourth forms, and in running the centre. More than two trailer loads of tin cans were brought to the centre and will be recycled locally. There were also plant, produce, and white elephant stalls, displays, films, and a public speaking competition, during the week-end.
