Strong winds upset rowing

PA Lake Karapiro Strong cross-winds gusting through an exposed section around the 1000 m mark on the Lake Karapiro course yesterday wiped almost twothirds of the scheduled races at the national rowing championships. The 31 elimination heats and 11 repechage heats that should have been rowed yesterday will now have to be slotted into today’s and tomorrow’s programme, with racing getting under way at the early time of 7 a.m. today.
