Levy for squash
A 50c levy per player in tournaments has been decided upon by the Canterbury Squash Rackets Association. The association decided to impose the levy at its annual meeting. The money will go to the travelling fund for team events and selected individual players. It was also decided to drop the two-tiered system operating last season for inter-club competition and revert to a .one-and-a-haif tier using Mondays and Tuesdays. The hew management committee will comprise the officials together with six members from the delegates at the meeting. There is to be a delegates’ meeting every two months. It was resolved that women with national A gradings can play in the men’s inter-club competition. This year’s senior representative selectors will be Pat Leopold, Doug Lawrie and Les Milne, with Bruce Marriott and Neville Idour selectiong the junior teams. Officers are:—Patron, Mr M. R. Blank; president, Mr V. J. W. Hargreaves; vicepresidents, Messrs I. Thomas and D. M. Lawrie; secretarytreasurer. Mrs S. Bailey.
