Central golfers beat Army
The Central Canterbury Golf Sub-association beat the Army southern region team. 12J-51. tn a fixture at Bumham. Central Canterbury gained a big adr antage. winning five and halving one of the six foursomes. The singles matches were closer. Central Canterbury finishing with a 7-5 advantage Results (Canterbury names first) were:—
Foursomes. — E. H. M. Richard* and R. Pirle beat J. Smith and B. Flint, 2 and 1; S. Parker and G. J. Hanna beat T. Whittaker find N. Bell. 4 and 2; B. Arnst and C. Nairn beat E. Elley and R. Hewlett, 6 and 5; J. Brooker and R. H. Neal beat T. Higginson and N. Ellis. 8 and 6; A. Richards and J. Vessey beat N. Rhynd and R. Christie. 4 and 2; S. Oliver and I Bourke halved with G. Sandford and V. Whyman.
