Seven injured in accident
PA Hamilton I Seven young people are in a serious condition in Waikato Hospital after a head-on collision between two cars at.) Te Awamutu about 6.30 p.m.' on Sunday. The seven, who are all ini their teens or early twenties, were the occupants of cars which collided on a comer just inside the Te Awamutu borough. The occupants of one car were three local people and the other car was returning! to Auckland. A Hamilton youth was killed on Sunday when the car he was driving rolled and burst into flames in Ruakura Road. He was David Francis Wallace, aged 18.
I The accident happened about 3 p.m. The car roiled on a slight bend near the Ruakura Research Centre, throwing Mr Wallace ‘rom the vehicle. I Two passengers received 'minor injuries in the acciI dent. The Te Kuiti police yesterday released the name of a pedestrian killed early on Saturday morning when he was struck by a car in the town’s main street. He was Dan Manawaiti, aged 25, of Te Kuiti. The police yesterday released the name of a boy, aged 3|, who was killed when struck by a car in Hastings on Friday night. He was Timothy Charles HeUyer, the son of Mr and Mrs M. F. HeUyer, of Hastings.
