Parklands garden competition
Judging of the Parklands annual summer garden competition was completed last week-end by the Christchurch Beautifying Association. The gardens were of an exceptionally high standard, which resulted in only a few points separating the winners. Results:— Best individual garden—K. McKinnel. 4 Valcrest Avenue 1; J. Waters and Mrs Waters, 20 Heathglen Avenue. 2; Mrs D. Millet. 12 Heathglen Avenue 3. Most improved garden.—l. W. Gale and Mrs Gale, 71 Royal Park Drive. 1; J. L. Thackrey and Mrs Thackrey. 7 Hurst Place. 2; P. R. Blackler and Mrs Blackler. 5 Hurst Place, 3.
Best group, six houses or more in ene street.—Mr and Mrs R. Gibbons. Mr and Mrs W. Stock, Mr and Mrs M. Lawrence, Mr and Mrs F. Moore, Mr and Mrs A. Wilson. Mr and Mrs S. Smith, Mr and Mrs A. W. Clark. Mr and Mrs L. Taylor, Mr and Mrs D Sykes, and Mr and Mrs J. Pass, all of Queenspark Drive. Best street—Heathglen Avenue.
