PA Nelson Just one blow with the axe separated the winner and second place-getter in the national underhand chopping championship at Nelson. Southland’s Mike Carran powered his way to the title but the steam-train style ofj ‘Richmond’s Stan Wybrchv. ■exhaling breath loudly with 'each blow, took him into second place ahead of Buller’s Ross Williams, who was first to the turn but finished his cut just two blows behind Wybrow. The visiting Tasmanian axeman, Tony Watson, was fourth.
