King in team

As expected, the Timaru fast bowler, Harvey King, has come back into the Canterbury side for the Shell Series cricket match against Otago at Lancaster Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. King, who was unavailable for the games against Northern Districts and Wellington because of business commitments, replaces Richard Hadlee, who is resting his aggravated groin injury. Although inclined to spray the ball around a little at times, King can be quite penetrative with his

brisk pace and should be a reasonable replacement for Hadlee. He has taken 10 wickets at an average of 19 in his three matches this season. Apart from King, the Canterbury squad remains the same as the one that convincingly beat Wellington to win the Shell Cup on Monday. The full squad is: M. L. Ryan (captain), B. G. Hadlee, P. G. Coman, B. E. Congdon, P. E. McEwan, D. W. Stead, R. H. King, W. Eddington, D. R. Hadlee, S. L. Boock, G. B. Smith, and N. M. Parker.
