I NZPA-Reuter London j Captain Mark Phillips is to leave the British Armynext spring to become a full-time farmer, Buckingham Palace has announced. He will farm at Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire, the home the Queen bought for him and Princess Anne. The couple moved into Gatcombe Park with their baby son, Peter three weeks ago. The estate comprises 242 hectares at Gatcombe Park and a further 242 hectares at adjoining Aston Farm, which the Queen bought in October. Speculation that Captain Phillips would concentrate on horse breeding and training was discounted by Mr Ronald Allison, the Queen’s press secretary. “There are no plans to! develop a riding school or stud at Gatcombe Park in; the forseeable future,” he! said.

Communist call The powerful Italian Communist Party has called for the formation of a government of national unity, to include itself and the Socialists, as the only solution to Italy’s economic crises. Despite the six-party pact made in July, by which the communists and five! other parties keep the minority Government of the Prime Minister (Mr Giulio Andreotti in power, the Government was still unable to deal with the problems of the country, the Communists said.—Rome.

Wedding plan A 20-year-old American who wants to marry his step-grandmother has said that he will arrange the wedding in the United States because British law will not allow it.
