'Good will’ in Texas

Two young New Zealanders will spend six weeks in Texas next year, “helping to foster international good will.”

The youth and girl who win the 1978 International Youth of the Year Contest, sponsored by New Zealand Lions and the Bank of New South Wales, will attend the Julien Hyer Youth Camp at Dallas, Texas. The contest was held for the first time this year. The winners, from Hunterville and Kaitaia, joined 32 other youths from 18 countries at the camp. Its purpose is to foster international good will and to provide an opportunity to leam about and experience the culture of other countries.

Next year’s finals will be held at Wellington in March.
