Peter Grieve’s grandfather, the late Jack Hennah, was a colourful and highlysuccessful owner-trainer of the 19305, and raced the brilliantly-versatile, Padishah, winner of a Wellington Cup, a CJ.C. Metropolitan. a Grand National Steeples, and the Grand National Hurdles twice. The Grieves won races with Braless’s dam, the Head Hunter mare, Snuggles, which showed special aptitude on winter tracks, and recorded two victories at Trentham.
i She came from the same family as Beaulivre, a brilliant winner on New Zealand and Australian ! courses over 30 years ago, winning 11 races “on the trot.” including the New Zealand Derby at Riccarton. Beaulivre also won a Caulfield Cup under 9.0.
Snuggles last spring foaled an Entrepreneur colt, and this spring returns to Showoff 11.
