Fast yacht times
A fleet of 12 yachts took part in a two-day race staged by the Banks Peninsula Cruising Club at the week-end. The 30km course was from Lyttelton to Port Levy via Whistling Buoy and Wakaroa Point, with the return journey on Sunday.
A moderate north-easterly wind made for good conditions and fast times. Results:-
Saturday Division one.—Line honour:

Chantel 2, Phuid (Miles Jones) 3. Second division.—Pinta (Reeve Wilkinson) 3:40:7. Handicap: Pinta 1, Valencia (Jim Paterson) 2, Tiare II (Pip Strack) 3.
