A car left the road and mounted the footpath, struck the boy and his cycle and hit and broke a lamppost while travelling

Two St John ambulances attended after getting a call at 5.51 p.m. The driver of the car, Mr .1. S. Eitis, of 26 Percy Street, Linwood, who Is about 25. suffered abrasions to the head and was knocked unconscious. He was treated and discharged from the Christchurch Hospital and later interviewed by the police.
