Yachts off to Auck.

NZPA-Reuter Cape Town The 15 yachts in the Whitbread round-the-world race left Cape Town in a strong breeze yesterday on the second leg to Auckland. The yachts were accompanied by a fleet of small craft as they set out into Cape Town Bay. The French yacht Neptune and. the British yacht King’s Legend led as they moved out into the Indian Ocean. The 15 yachts are expected in New Zealand at the end of November after a 8700 mile journey from Cape Town.

The Dutch entrant Flyer led after the first leg of the race from Portsmouth, England, to Cape Town, after a record passage of 32 days.
