Produce earned $89M
PA Wellington Fruit and vegetables exports earned New Zealand over SB9M last year, the Minister of Agriculture, (Mr Maclntyre) t n ld Parliament.
Apples were the biggest single exchange earner, bringing in SI6M in the year ended March 31, 1977. Kiwi fruit sales were worth SIOM and onions and potatoes were each worth over SBM.
Other vegetables earned over SI2.M and sales of seed and grains were over S34M. Mr Maclntyre gave the information in reply to a question by Mr W. E. Cooper (National, Otago Central).
