Lambert stood down
PA Palmerston North An All Black prop forward, Kent Lambert, was stood down for one month by the Manawatu Rugby Union after being ordered off by a Waikato referee, Mr C. G. Gregan, in a Ranfurly Shield match against Counties on Saturday. Lambert was sent off the field early in the second
half for kneeing an opponent. His suspension means that he will miss Manawatu’s shield defence against Marlborough on Saturday. Lambert appeared before the union’s judicial committee last Sunday, but the suspension was not announced until last evening, after it had been ratified, without discussion, by the full executive of the union
