New system of charges
PA Waaganui The Waverley Racing Club has revised its system of charges and hopes other clubs will Follow. The club is to abandon the sjstem of nomination and acceptance fees and will replace it with a starting fee. The fee will be on a scale based on the stake offered for each race. Horses eliminated or balloted out and unable to re-enter the fields will not be charged, and horses scratched by 1 p.m. on the day before races will receive a 50 per cent rebate of the starting fee. The starting fee will be about 50 per cent more than the previous nomination and acceptance fees combined.
