Solomon takes tennis title
NZPA Cincinnati Harold Solomon, the third 'seed swept the first five games, breaking service three times, and went on to defeat his fourth-seeded countryman, Mark Cox, 6-2, 6-3 for the singles title of the SUSIOO,OOO Western tennis championships. The victory, was worth SUSI6,OOO.
Fencing.—Valentina Sidorova, of Russia, won the gold medal in the women’s individual foil event of the world fencing championship at Buenos Aires.
