Upsets in dog racing

Several lower-clue dogs up-et their high-graded rivals in the eight heats to determine the Can. terbury representatives tn the national semi-finals of the Fair, child champlon-of-champios greyhound sprint series at Queen Elizabeth H Park next week-end

The heats were to be run la.-,! Wednesday evening but a dense fog halted the meeting after the first race, which was won by the accomplished chuer, Man O-War. On Saturday, the programme was completed. The heat winners were Swift .Princess. Gazelle, Ariki Sue, Master McGrath, Lady Waddertn, Dancing Wave, and Mr Grey.

Master McGrath, Roaming Gaselle. and Lady Wadderln were all in form and fancied runners but the other winners were unexpected. The runners-up and resenes for the semi-finals In the 580 m race next Saturday are Sweet Dream, Torianna Charm. Happy Ending, Mark LobeU, Highated Lass, Dartanyon, Red Robin and FUey Flyer.
