PA Gisborne Poverty Bar took the lead in the North Island section of the Radio New Zealand minor cham pionships when it beat King Country, 21-3. in Gisborne on Saturday. It owed its win to a good displav bv its forwards who. In the second half, showed their dominance by scoring three push-over tries. King Country forwsrds stsrted off well and held Poverty Bay to 3-all at half-time, but they wilted under continual pressure In the second half. Scorers.—Poverty Bay: L. G. Knight (2). G. F. Torrie, P. Tocker tries; W. Nikora, a conversion and a penalty. King Country: J. Lange, a penalty goal.
