N.Z. bred mare brings $25,000
NZPA Sydneyj The New Zealand bred mare,. Good Behaviour, in foal to the champion stallion, Showdown,] fetched $25,000 at the broodmare and weanling sales at the Newmarket etables of William Inglis and Son on Thursday. The Broombee Stud, near; Annidale, in New South Wales,, bought the four-year-old mare. Good Behaviour Is closely related to New Zealand champion. Desert Chief, which won 14 races including the Canterbury, Riverton and Invercargill Mr Tom Flynn, of Oakleigh,! paid <lB.OOO for the Wilkes filly, ■ Wink Again. Wink Again was placed this season at Handwick and Canter-, bury as a tw o-year-old. Mr Flynn I also paid <9OOO for the Alclmedes : mare. Gentle Wench. The good racehorse, Elevena, | which is in foal to Without | Fear’s brother, With Favour,! realised £17,000. The mare, which is a sister to | Champagne Stakes winner. Just Topic, was bought by a blood ! stock agent, Frank Ford, of Mel-; bourne.
, The imported mare. Impression, foaled in England in 1971, . I also realised 517,000. Coles i Bloodstock Agents bought her. , i She is destined for a stud career 11 in Western Australia. Friday's draft of weanlings . failed to attract any great attention, the biggest price being 86000 for a Kaoru Star colt. The classy three-year-old filly, Woodlelgh Fair, realised the top price of $42,000 at the two-day sale. Woodleigh Fair, a daughter of the outstanding sire, Oncidium, was bought by Mr John Kelly, of the Newhaven Park Stud, at . Boorowa, in New South Wales. The filly won almost $20,000 in prize money with two wins in i Sidnev and placings in the ■ Rosehill and Canterbury Guineas i and the Wakeful Stakes at Flemjlngton, this season. Her previous owner, Mr E. ,; Howarth of New Zealand, also received $lO,OOO from the sale of ,!her half-brother, Waterloo. Waterloo has won seven races 11 and over $lB,OOO. The well-bred filly, Nocciolina, • I brought $11,500. By Atilla from ■' Castogna, she was bought by Lockyersleigh Stud.
