Police car involved in collision

A police car was involved in a collision with a car in Papanui Road last evening, as a result of ■which two persons were admited to hospital. They are Martin de Brochart, aged 21, of 24 Stoneyhurst Street. St Albans, whose condition is described' as moderately serious, and John Lawrence, aged 22, of Fiat 3, 63 Papanui Road, whose condition is reported to be not serious.

Two other occupants of the car ■were not injured, but two policemen were treated at the hospital and discharged.

The accident occurred at 11.15 p.m. when the police car was responding to a call to Papanui. The front of the police car was severely damaged, as was the rear right side of the other car.

The police were investigating the accident last evening, but no charge has been laid.
