The Waipara commune
Sir. — Having regard to the hysteria in your columns concerning the Waipara commune, were I a man of God anticipating the imminent arrival of Christ I should now be contemplating the purchase of firearms in order to prevent his being lynched at his second coming. Mark you. I doubt whether even a Christ would have the temerity to challenge our present leaders backed by the 5.1.5., Defence Department, police and the Wanganui computer centre — the latter just in case he overstayed his welcome. — Yours, etc., J. E. AITKEN. Upper Moutere. June 9, 1977.
