Taharoa stars as jumper
Special correspondent Wanganui The lightly-tried jumper. Taharoa, caused a stir at the Wanganui training session yesterday when he outjumped the inform Manawatu entry, Rego Sun, over a round of the battens The heavdy-bandaged Taharoa was over 20 lengths clear at the finish. Raced by Castlecliff publican, Mr B. Ross, and trained by C. J. Bradley, Taharoa was several times placed as a jumper before going amiss two years ago. Prince Marden, which may travel north later this month with his owner-trainer, Miss R. Garrity, took the time honours. Working twice round the reverse wav on the No. 1 grass, he took 53.8 sec for 800 m. the last 600 m in 39.8 sec the first time and then recorded 40.5 sec for the last , |6oom on the second lap. Prince 1 Mardon has weighed in at his j last six outings over ground. Mata Ma worked around the reverse way. too. taking 41 Bsec for 600 m. Something Missing ran' 800 m in 54.65ec the last 600 m taking 41sec.
