Winner of last Auckland Cup and right back in top form winning last start, weight-for-age over 1600 m at Te Rapa on May 21, after 1400 m at Ellerslie on May 7. Has to be hard to beat in spite of weight. p R. Skelton 2 2128 MARCH LEGEND (14) 57.5. Beaten favourite last start, over 2060 m at Wanganui on Monday, under 58kg after winning 2160 m at Rotorua on May 28 and second over 2060 m at Wanganui on Saturday. Represents class. 3 1634 PREPAK (2) 56.5. Quality mare which has had a chance to freshen since last start fourth in weight-for-age over 1600 m at Te Rapa on May 21. Last won 2200 m Champion Stakes with 51.5 kg at Ellerslie in April. R. Heaslip 4 0054 CATTLE KING (5) 55.5. Ran on solidly last start over 1600 m at Ellerslie first day with 56kg. Should appreciate this longer distance. One of the best stayers when in top form and specially good on heavy ground. D. Graham 5 025$ BUNVARO (1$) 53.5. Looked good last spring and won good middle-distance double at Hastings, Ellerslie this last April. Has been running on lately, over 1600 m. Could be one to beat this distance.

L. Douglas 6 0515 TUMBLER (3) 53.5. Won at this distance at Ellerslie, two starts back, from Bunvaro Nelson’s Order. Meanwhile fifth behind March Legend, over 2160 m at Rotorua in May. Form reads fairly well.

T. Williams 7 9710 BATTLE FURY (1) 53. Ran on solidly two starts back when successful over 2000 m at Ruakaka on May 27 with 50kg. Tenth last Saturday over 1600 m. Back to this distance likely to show improvement again. Handles heavy ground.

N. Tiley 3 3700 SANYO (12) 53. Capable when in top form and finished fourth in last Auckland Cup. Has not been running on well enough lately. 9 2141 COURT PRINCE (9) 52. Came north with good reputation and followed good fourth in intermediate over 1600 m last Saturday at Ellerslie with solid win over 1600 m on Monday. Unknown quantity at this distance but worth respect

S. Autridge 10 3060 BOLD BEN (1») 51. Good at best but disappointing lately Well beaten over 2160 m at Rotorua and over 2200 m at Trentham, last two attempts. Last good form was third over 2100 m at Tauranga in April. R. Elliott 11 0060 HEIDSIECK (7) 51. Once very good stayer finding it hard to regain any tiling like his best form. 12 330 NELSON'S ORDER (16) 51. Ended run of minor planings when thirteenth last start over 2060 m at Wanganui last Saturday. Previously third over 2000 m at Ruakaka and 2200 m at Ellerslie in May Certainly due to win again.

W. Robinson 026 PORCHESTER (8) 51. Hit ,'ood form again two starts back when second to Battle Fury over 2000 m at Ruakaka on May 27. but fair only one start since when beaten over 2060 m at Wanganui last Saturday. 1 5130 PREFER (20) 51. Last won over 2000 m at Gisborne on May 7 under 48kg. Since then close third, same course and distance, on May 11 and tenth behind March l-egend over 2160 m at Rotorua on May 28. Could battle on close. 6. Grylls IS 1103 GOLDEN FOX (4) 50.5. Won intermediate race over 2200 m at Ellerslie on May 7. 1600 m in April then unplaced over 1600 m at Ellerslie last Saturday and third to Court Prince on Monday Stays on prettywell at best.

Finished eleventh of 18 last time, over 1900 m at Rotorua on May 28. 19 9089 INDIAN COUNT (101 50. Not racing nearly well enough. Finished ninth of 13 last time in C2 over 2200 m at Ellerslie on Monday.

3.35 p.m.— VISITORS' HANDICAP 55000; apprentice allowances; 1400 m. 1 1401 SHIFNAL CHIEF (3) 68. Brilliant galloper, especially on soft footing and won fresh up last start, over 1200 m at Rotorua on May 28 under 57.5 kg. Has steadier under this higher scale but will very likely give another good account of himself. H. Matthe rs 2 6416 BLUE BLOOD (6) 63. One of the best sprinters on top of the. ground but has trouble with soft footing and could be expected to have conditions too much against him.

R. Heaslip 3 09 HAPPY UNION (13) 58. Top three-year-old which failed to come up In Melbourne last spring. After a couple of preliminary races following a spell could be worth som P attention. R. Skelton 4 1200 SOVEREIGN BILL (7) 55. Fast and hard to beat at best but beaten quickly two starts since a spell and would seem to need more racing

S. Aulridqe 5 5261 INDIAN RULER (2) 54.5. Won well over 1600 m at Ellerslie on Monday after sixth first day and close second to Blue Blood over 1200 m at Ruakaka on May 27. Likes galloping room. Could be better drawn out a bit but should still be tough, to beat.

6 8055 CORNELIUS (5) 53.5. Fine winter galloper at peak and not long back after a spell so a likely improver. Fair fifth behind Indian Ruler, over 1600 m, on Mon- _ 21V Worth consideration. 7 9101 Ml GOLD (19) 53.5. Speedy and hung on gamely bh Monday to win over 1200 m. Won course and distance, two starts before Revels in heavy ground and should be prominent in spite t r de draw - Unlikely

Battled home well and perhaps on way back to top form which is very good. 9 0333 ROJANDA (4) 53. mmor placings and wel! due for a win. Finished third last Saturday to Smart and Wanbln, over 1200 m and close third to Shifnal Chief, at Rotorua time before Likely placegetter again.

Resumed racing after a spell when fifth two starts back oyer 1200 m at Gisborne on May 7, then ran Smart Fella close, over 1200 m at Ellerslie last Saturday. Would not need to improve much further.

- K - Reooett 13 ,’P, 7 , 4 CHEEKY COUNTESS (17) 51.5. Turned in pretty good performance on Mon day when fourth behind Court Prince, over ICOOm. Good and game when at best. Has to be allowed a chance.

14 089 CONISTON (12) 51. Once promising but too long out of form to be rated any sort of prospect. This will be first race since last August. A. Campbell 15 6000 KING PEDES (9) 51. Has looked promising at times but would need to Im. prove considerably on latest showing, when tenth of 13 in C2 over 2200 m at Ellerslie on Monday.

D. Southworth 16 3965 LORD NOVELLO (14) 51. Showed some Improvement again when fifth behind Mi Gold over 1200 m on Monday but would need to do better. Has been useful on heavy ground. 17 0596 MARENOSTRO (18) 51. Turned in fair effort when finishing mid-field behind Indian Ruler over 1600 m at Ellerslie on Monday. Form however not inspiring. IS 0020 MASTER SHOW (15) 51. Finished second two starts back, in C2. over 1200 m at Paeroa on May 24 but this is much harder. Well beaten tenth last start, over 1400 m at Ruakaka on Mav 27. 19 0008 RAGING MOON (8) 51. Reached fair form in intermediate company but has done nothing to suggest possibility of a win in this company. Finished mid-field last time, behind Smart Fella, over 1200 m at Ellerslie last Saturday. R. Vance
