A root of potatoes grown from true genetic seed in the last season. The potato section at the Crop Research Division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research at Lincoln has successfully used the seed from the small berries produced by potatoes as the source of the crop. It is believed that this may be the first time that this has been done. This root produced 1942 grams of potatoes, including 1516 grams of tables, 314 of seed and 112 of “pig” potatoes.
