Parliament's diary
Members tabled five notices of motion and ministers answered 13 questions when Parliament sat at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. A private member’s bill, the Freedom of Information BilL put forward by Mr R. W. Prebble (Lab.. Auckland Central), was introduced but a motion by Mr Prebble that it be referred to the Statutes Revision Committee was lost on a division,
24 to 45. The bill was set down for a second reading on June 17. When the House resumed after the dinner adjournment, at 7.30 p.m., the Chateau Companies Act and the Takapuna City Council Rates Validation Act were accorded the Royal Assent. Members then resumed the Address-in-Replv debate until the 10.30 p.m. adjournment.
