Burglars wreck cabinets
Burglars caused damage costing almost as much asi the value of the goods they stole when they entered the premises of Rolls Industries, Ltd, Mowbray Street, on Wednesday night. The burglars wrecked several filing cabinets — worth a total of $3OO — stealing four electronic calculators, which will cost $5OO to replace. Entry was gained by forcing a rear door. However, the biggest theft reported to the police yesterday' was from a house at 468 Oxford
Burglars entered the house about 7.15 a.m. and escaped with a colour television set and stereo equipment, worth a total of $1996. The occupants of the house were not home at the time.
Burglars with a yen for poultry' and eggs have been at the Rice Bowl takeaway food bar in Buckleys Road, Linwood.
They broke into a store; shed by forcing a door and removed a lot of frozen chickens and 90 dozen eggs, at a total value of $256. !
