Car trial
The seventeenth annual Lakeland Car Trial organised by the Rallies and Trials Enthusiasts Club will start from Pareora, just south of Timaru, on Saturday. The event will head south and then inland to Central Otago, to eventually finish at Queenstown. The trial covers approximately 500 km travelling over the Danseys Pass, which was part of the route in the 1976 Heatway Rally. Twenty-three cars and crews have entered for the event, which will take about 8 hours to complete.
