: The off-pourse total was ’58,037,434, an average of] $574,102. compared with $542,996. Betting on the 14 meetings totalled $13,634,633. an average of $973,902, against; $937,148. All previous records for a i trotting meeting in New Zealand were broken on New iZealand Cup day when on|course investments totalled $973,625. Off-course betting (that day was also a record. 1 totalling $895,144.75, while ithe grand total was $1,868,769.75. The Canterbury Park and New Brighton Clubs both held six meetings during the season. On-course, there was little difference between the two clubs, but Canterbury Park had a decided advantage off-course. The Canterbury Park club averaged $315,852 on-course, against $314,860, while New Brighton averaged $315,215, compared with $292,458. Off-course, Canterbury Park averaged $503,233, against $454,846, while New
