Concorde’s successor?

PA Auckland A “second generation” Concorde programme will be an international venture, perhaps even a global project. That is the opinion of one of the top brains behind the Anglo-French supersonic : ‘.rliner, the Concorde project’s technical director, Dr J. W. Strang. In Auckland to give a lecture, Dr Strang said that if there was enough success with the Concorde on the Atlantic run — and particularly if it got rights to fly into New York — it was virtually certain a start on an “on-going project” would be made in eight to 10 years.

Doctor Strang, who has lost count of the number of times he has flown in Concorde, said he did not know of any special plan to bring Concorde to New Zealand — that would probably depend on airline promotions.
