Ambassador named
Mr Umeo Kagei, a council lor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Japan, has been appointed Japanese Ambassador-designate to New Zealand.
Mr Kagei, who is married with eight children, succeeds Mr Hideho Tanaka, who will leave New Zealand in June, lit is not known when Mr Kagei will take up his new I job.
