Real Lumber back to rest

Special Correspdt. Auckland Real Lumber’s latest form does not inspire much confidence but the three-year-old showed sufficient promise earlier this term to warrant stong support in the Waimate Plains Handicap, the first leg of the T.A.B. double at Hawera today. At his most recent appearance, at Palmerston North last Wednesday night, Real Lumber failed to recover from an early break and finished well back. It was his first run for a month. If he can begin safely this afternoon. Real Lumber should be capable of mastering his rivals, of which only Lord Lobell and Lord Mike lok threats.
