Caller’s aid sought

NZPA-Reuter Washington

France has asked for the help of President Jimmy Carter in winning permission for the Concorde supersonic airliner to land in New York City. The French Transport Minister (Mr Marcel Cavaille) made his request at a 15-minute meeting with the United States Transportation Secretary (Mr Brock Adams). He suggested that the President use his influence with the Governor of New York (Mr Hugh Carey).

An aide to Mr Adams said that the request would be sent to the White House.
