Ugandan atrocities

Sir,—Your correspondent Mr C. G. Marshall is not alone. Left, Right, and centre are united, I think, in revul-

sion. But. he writes, Corso and the Churches condemn South Africa “for far less”. Does Mr Marshall suggest that South Africa now be condemned to t lesser degree? Or with fewer facts and figures? Or a little less often? One would not wish — at least. 1 would not wish—to seem unfair, or to drag out a flawed argument until it collapsed. A compromise: let Corso and the Churches continue to condemn Uganda in clear precise English, but let South Africa be attacked with only that degree of intelligence and insight shown by its paid and unpaid defenders. — Yours, etc. KEN McALLISTER. February 24, 1977.
