Man and son rescued
PA Auckland A man and his 11-year-old son were rescued from the cliffs at Muriwai after they were trapped by the incoming tide. A fisherman spotted them, and notified the helicopter rescue squad. However, when the helicopter arrived the crew did not have enough rope to reach the stranded pair. They had to go back to get some more rope, and eventually used more than i.j feet to lift them from the cliffs. The rescued pair are Mr Tau Rapana. of Mangere, and his son, Mairi.
