Situations Vacant INDUSTRIAL MEDIATION SERVICE -MEDIATORS AUCKLAND AND WELLINGTON APPLICATIONS are invited for the aboie positions. which are statutory appointments under the Industrial Relations Act 1973. The Mediators will he required to encourage employers, unions and workers to establish and maintain good industrial relations and assist m the prevention and settlement of industrial dis putes. The positions call for persons with a wide knowledge of industry and extensive experience in the field of industrial relations. Ability to originate and maintain good relationships with employers’ and workers’ organiastions. and a suitable personality and appearance are importani The Auckland appointee will be mainly respon sible for work in the Northern Industrial District and the Wellington appointee in the Wellington Marlborough and Nelson Industrial Districts, but both may be required in other areas. The appointments will be for the statutory term of three years, and the successful appointees will he eligible for reappointment for further terms. Commencing salary will depend on qualifications and experience, but will be up to $12,296 a year, with a review after 12 months.
