Bottle Lake draws 1000
About 1000 people visited the Christchurch City Council's Bottle Lake plan tation on its first open day. The director of the City Council's parks and reserves department (Mr H G. Gilpin) said that the day had been “most successful” and that he hoped more open days would be arranged soon. Plantation staff patrolled the forest to answer questions.
.None of the visitors lost their way in the plantation.
Visitors were asked to keep to the tracks and were not able to take their vehicles into the forest, Mr Gilpin said.
