Pakistan gets revenge in cricket
NZPA-Reuter Lahore The Pakistan cricketers defeated the International Eleven by 134 runs in the third of their seven one-day cricket matches at Sialkot yesterday. The victory for Pakistan avenged defeats by the International Eleven in the first two matches of the series, being played as part of celebrations marking the centenary of the birth of Pakistan’s founder, Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The host side piled up 230 runs for seven wickets in their 40 overs, then got the International out for just 96 runs. Cricket.—The former England test opener, Geoff Boycott, played a typical sheet-anchor role for his club side. Waverley in the Sydney cricket competition. He scored an unbeaten 120 in Waverley’s total of 169 for seven. League.—lnspired by its playing coach, Malcolm Reilly, Castleford reached the final of the English Rugby League Challenge Cup with a 15-10 victory over Widnes. Tennis.—The sixth-seeded Brigitte Cuypers of South Africa, and the unseeded American, Laura Dupont have reached the women’s singles final in the South African Open tennis championships' at'Johannesburg.
