PA Timaru Seven New Zealand records, including one which broke the world mark, were set at the South Island Paraplegic Games held at Waimate over the week-end. In the short metric round of archery Nerolie Fairhall (Canterbury) scored 511 points to beat the existing world mark of 503. Her effort will not be officially recognised because under the rules'of paraplegic sport such a performance has to be at national games before an international judge. The captain of the team to the Canadian Paraplegic Olympics this year, Jim Savage (Kawerau), broke his own record in grade three of the men’s shot put to set a record at 8.40 m.
