Steep rise likely
PA Wellington Air New Zealand has told exporters it will seek Government approval to raise its air freight rates steeply early next year. The airline has advised the Wellington Manufacturers’ Association that it. will seek approval for a 15 per cent increase in the rates on January 1 and a further 15 per cent on May I. The proposed increases would apply to general commodity rates, which are used by exporters who can guarantee a certain volume of cargo over a period.
